my midnight heart

BRISTOL + BROOKLYN my midnight heart is the interdisciplinary sound project of angelica allen, a uk-based vocalist, composer, sound designer, and creative director working at the intersection of voice, technology, and collective listening. her practice blends experimental pop, electronic composition, and vocal-based sound design, exploring liminality, identity, care, and the voice as both instrument and technology.

her work has been recognised within the contemporary pop and alternative r&b landscape through international performances and press. she has toured and performed alongside artists including tegan and sara, solange, blood orange, and foxes, and has appeared as a backing vocalist on saturday night live. as my midnight heart, she has received press support from outlets including pitchfork, rolling stone, npr, spin, and vice, among others.

angelica has been supported through artist development programmes including femme house and saffron, and is currently a resident at pervasive media studio. she is also a recipient of a sound and music seed award, supporting her transition into composition, sound design, and creative direction across live performance, participatory formats, and commissioned work.

in recent years, her practice has increasingly shifted toward interdisciplinary, research-led work that sits between music, sound art, and immersive experience. alongside her own creative output, angelica works as an assessor and mentor, with a growing focus on education, knowledge-sharing, and building sustainable frameworks that support other artists.

current and forthcoming projects include RESET, a modular platform for collective listening and voice-led performance; vocal-based compositional works exploring deep listening and nervous-system regulation; and ongoing sound design and compositional commissions. Her work is driven by experimentation, collaboration, and a commitment to developing accessible, future-facing models for how sound can be made, shared, and experienced.
